by Beth Moore
Dates: August 12 to September 30
When: Tuesday, 9:30 -10:30 a.m.
Where: Room S109-110
Overview: Three times a year, the ancient Israelites traveled to the temple in Jerusalem. Now it’s our turn to go there. For centuries, the pulse of worshipers could be taken in their rhythmic footsteps into this holy city. Traveling pilgrims sang the songs found in Psalms 120-134 as key elements of worship in those festivals. Beth Moore leads us to a new level in our relationship with God as we unveil our faces, express our hearts, and have a deep experience of worship, drawing closer to Him. Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges
Dates: August 10 to October 26
When: Sunday, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Where: Room E102
Overview: This book is about sin–not the obvious sins of our culture–but the subtle sins of believers, the target audience of this book. The author says we (the church) have become so preoccupied with the major sins of society that we have lost sight of the need to deal with our own more “refined” or subtle sins, like envy, jealousy, anger, worry, impatience, just to name a few. Come learn how to identify these sins in our lives and find out how to deal with them from a Biblical perspective. Contact Judy Chiles, judychiles@charter.net.
